ZOMBIE CENTRAL

CONNECT - DISCUSS - SURVIVE

ok, i was bored at school, and i started thinking, if your going to dig in against zombies, what are some things to look for when deciding location location location? these are some things i came up with, i wanna hear what you guys think is also needed when finding a base.

first, are you going to build a base, or occupy one?
if building, what resources and logistics do you have? by logistics, i mean the machines to do the work, and labor to make it all happen. and is it structurally stable? will it hold out against zombie onslaughts?

if your going to occupy a structure, you need to know things like:
thickness of the walls,and density
defendability, is this really the best place to set up camp?
etc...

things to look for might include:
oxygen filtration (if underground)
stealth, you dont want big neon signs screaming the location of your base, so remaining undetected is key.
renewable enegery, solar panels, running water, etc.
clean water: perhaps a river would go hand in hand with this?
non-perishable foods: you could grow your own food, if you were in the right spot
environmental concerns: the north pole would be good place to hide out. think about how many people currently live in the north pole, not a whole stinkin lot! and are you really gonna go all the way up into that freezing weather, to attack a well fortified position, just to munch on some brains? pfff! yeah right. also, you dont wanna set up base right in tornado alley, or where hurricanes are prone.

what are some other things?

a 50 foot high concrete fortress with 25 feet solid concrete as a base and the other 25 feet as walls multible mounted/removeable turret lookout positions with bullet proof glass and a walkway concrete must be 10 feet thick at least with farmlands and wells inside with a keep where all the supplies are and a fallback point with one tunnel in the base heavily guarded for escape and a pump for sewago to go over the wall rather than through for human threat of a weak spot/ zombies might crawl up if there that kind anything i missed? oh and solar panels

thats a lot of concrete, i dont think that would be plausible unless you started on it now, when theres no zombies. cuz if you wait until zombies are roaming around to build that place, your workers (which there will have to be hundreds of) will be getting eaten constantly, even with guards, it would be like an all you can eat smörgåsbord to the zombies. but i like it, i think if work began on it now, rather than later, it would be a formidable bunker.

while if your talking post zombie with all the problems you want a medium to large sized building with high windows such as mu churches gym one window in the front only 3 doors to board up and stairs with a top you can block with running water

uhm, ok. im going to introduce a new concept to you. its called punctuation. it makes that eye-sore of a paragraph a lot easier to read, you know. you should really use it.

The best place to go would be as north as possible if you plan on starting now but if your talking post zombies i would wait a few days where i am and then head south. The reasoning of that is as soon as zombies start walking in everyone is gonna say "head north" (like in the movies and i mean even on here alot of people are all for going north hoping that the zombies will freeze during the winter) and of course the zombies will follow. So then i can find a suitable place in Mexico or someplace like that and build a nice little base out in the middle of nowhere. Maybe in an old prison where it will already have a wall, lookout positions, rooms, an openish field for food, and stocks of food to last till I can get my fields in order. Then with some minor adjustments it will hold just fine untill (hopefully) the zombies rot away.

what about people who copy your plan or thought of that already mines a boat

ok a boat is a great idea if you have taken into account alot of things such as do you have immediate access to one, do you have years of experience sailing, how many people will you take with you, do you know which fish you can eat and which will kill you, and when someone gets sick will you have enough medicine and medical knowledge to care for them and keep the illness from spreading. Thats just some of the problems and doesnt even cover problems from the outside world. But with the right know-how thats a great plan.

well if people are doing what your doing, thats sort of complimenting you, because they like how you think. besides, if someone copied me, i wouldnt care. id want as many ppl as possible to survive.

This is how I plan to roll. As the "great panic" begins I will start by boarding up my house. we already have tons of wood. and enough food for 2 months. I also plan to stalk up on water maybe some sort of tarp system for collecting rain water. This is a temporary plan assuming that the infection is long term I might consider leaving my house for some of the larger walled off houses that are near by, but I would put my money on the fact that people will already be there. If supplies start to run low so mid month to I will start raiding the near by houses. Ass long as I am quiet the zombies won't notice me. I figure most people will die while trying to run to the north or to the mountains or to some unknown island some where. While the zombies are eating their brains I will be safe in my "living" room. lol. as far a people copying me I don't think two many people will plan on coming over to fortify my house. but most people are welcome. bring your own booze ....oh and food that is important to

one of the drawbacks of the prison is that there might still be prisoners in it and i dont know what to do with them probably the best place to go would be an old castle because its just like a prison without the prisons but realisticly i dont have access to one but any ideas on what to do with the prisoners would be hopeful
