ZOMBIE CENTRAL

CONNECT - DISCUSS - SURVIVE

Because we were taking over a weapons thread with this discussion.  I've of the mindset that vs a zombie, you could use just about any "extream sports" ppe and have that be your armor, of course that doesnt take into account the fact that other humans with guns might be comin for your stuff? thoughts?

IIIA bullet proof vest tight with full tac gear over it human threats then need head shots and your helmet can help with that

helmets arent there to stop bullets, they are there to keep your head together for a proper burial. yes the shape is made to HOPEFULLY defect a shot, but it is unlikely.
its just like the EOD bomb suits. they dont protect you from bombs. its to keep enough of your body together to identify and bury. if they were completely bomb proof, then everyone would wear them to stop bullets.

I would stay away from any kind of protective head gear besides a hat. Unless your riding a motorcycle, then you won't need it. Just go with anything light, because you most likely going to have to do some running with all your gear, so the helmet, body armor, or anything else would just be dead weight.

well you should have a helmet with a face shield so that you don get any Z blood in your face

i said help not stop, and if there packing military hardware they'll just throw a grenade and boom! were gone also im talking human threat light not medium or heavy.

ever done resistance training with jogging same principal. ever run after an animal hunting in full hunting gear? i have its not that bad and pretty soon if you do stuff with it before the Z's you can get used to it.

i play paintball in full tactical gear. thats pretty heavy plus about 20lbs of paint (30lbs/box of 2000). im not one to sit and hit, i run and come out shooting. so wearing a bunch of gear is nothing to me, but thats only for 6 hours. wearing it all day would suck

I'd ware a helmet but not a kevlar, too heavy and uncomfortable, since i'm not worried about blasts and shrapnel. Getting shot in the head and living is unlikely because the bullet is unlikely to stop at the helmet also your neck is unlike to survive the force unbroken even if it does stop at the helmet. It happens but not often. So i'd ware something like a climbing or extreme sports one, it'll keep you from injuring your head on rubble your scavin in and if you fall or are knocked down it'll keep your dome off the pavement.
